THE ATELIER STORY

About Atelier Kazan

Where ancient inspirations and Spanish master craftsmanship meet contemporary fine jewellery.

Reine Zeinoun, Founder of Atelier Kazan

“The name Atelier Kazan is a tribute to her husband’s late father, a renowned jeweller in Beirut during the 1970s.”

FOUNDER

Reine Zeinoun, Founder of Atelier Kazan

Atelier Kazan was founded by Lebanese-born Reine Zeinoun, whose journey has taken her from Lebanon to North America, and ultimately to Spain.

Reine began her career in marketing, working across the Middle East and North America and spending a decade in the United States. Moving to Europe marked a turning point. Living in the old world, surrounded by art, architectural beauty, history, and a profound sense of soul, was a breath of fresh air. She found herself naturally drawn toward the arts and began exploring traditional plastic arts before discovering her true calling in fine jewellery.

Reine went on to study and train under Spanish master jewellers and artisans, immersing herself in the traditional techniques of the craft while embracing contemporary approaches to design. Through this experience, she developed a deep fascination with gemstones and precious metals—and with the transformative process itself: taking hard, raw materials and patiently turning them into objects of beauty meant to be worn and treasured.

For Reine, just like her homecountry Lebanon, Spain is a country with an extraordinary soul. Its layers of history, art, architecture, and craftsmanship continue to shape the spirit of Atelier Kazan.

The creations are inspired by the great civilizations of human history, cultures from around the world, divine beauty, and the enduring language of art. Each piece seeks to bridge the ancient and the contemporary, marrying artisanal craftsmanship with modern sensibility.

At its heart, Atelier Kazan is about transformation, not only of precious materials, but of ideas, memories, and inspiration into wearable art.

OUR VISION

What Is Atelier Kazan?

Atelier Kazan is a fine jewellery atelier where every piece is imagined and handcrafted as a unique work of art.

We create one-of-a-kind jewellery using precious metals and exceptional gemstones, drawing inspiration from the civilizations, cultures, and artistic traditions that have shaped our world throughout history. Our designs are a dialogue between past and present—rooted in timeless beauty while embracing a contemporary spirit.

Each piece is handcrafted in Spain, where traditional Spanish artistry and savoir-faire meet modern techniques. We honour the old ways of making jewellery while continuously exploring new possibilities in craftsmanship and design.

We are equally passionate about giving new life to jewellery with a history. We restore heirlooms and antique pieces, preserving their character and stories, while transforming forgotten or unworn jewellery into entirely new creations. Through our bespoke service, precious materials and sentimental pieces can be reimagined into jewellery that feels deeply personal and relevant to a new generation.

Atelier Kazan is ultimately about craftsmanship, transformation, and meaning—creating jewellery that carries the beauty of the past while becoming part of someone’s story for generations to come.

SAVOIR-FAIRE

The Old Ways of Goldsmithing

At Atelier Kazan, we believe that true jewellery carries the imprint of the hand that made it.

We honour the old ways of goldsmithing—traditional techniques that demand patience, precision, and an intimate understanding of precious materials. From hand fabrication and lost-wax casting (cire perdue) to hand setting, hand engraving, and meticulous finishing, each stage is performed with the care and attention that only an artisan can bring.

Cire perdue, or lost-wax casting, allows a design to be sculpted by hand in wax before being transformed into precious metal. Stones are then carefully set by hand, while engraving adds subtle depth, texture, and character to the metal.

These techniques are slow by nature, but that is precisely their beauty. They allow the jewellery to retain the human touch—the small nuances and imperfections that distinguish a handcrafted object from something produced by the thousands.

Atelier Kazan brings these centuries-old traditions into the present, combining the savoir-faire of the goldsmith with contemporary design and modern techniques. The result is jewellery made not simply to be worn, but to be appreciated as a piece of craftsmanship.
